1. "Ethical Responsibilities to Community and Society"
This is an aspect of my job that I haven't focused much energy on but after this weeks lessons I have come to understand the value within it. This isn't to say I haven't been responsible in this area, but I haven't focused much energy on it either. I will definitely seek to find other ways to promote the Early Childhood field within the larger context of the community and society.

3. "Responsive Family Centered Practice"
This area is huge. As we focused in my current class earlier, children are part of a system of people. They do not exist separately within each area of their lives; but those areas interact and interconnect. Connecting what we do to the family is critical for success of all students but particularly students within this age group.

ethically based services. "
This statement falls under the category of "Professional Development and Preparation". This is an area I have always felt very strongly about. Our best resources are each other and never is there a time that is so important in doing this than when someone is new to our field.

I really like your statement...our best resources are each other... on your second ethic. You must be very cooperative in team work and a best one to learn with. So glad to have a co-worker like you!
ReplyDeleteI like the codes you picked-it was difficult to just choose a few but these are all very important. Your statement about being each others resources is so true-sharing our knowledge is a must!
ReplyDeleteThis past semester, I have had a student-teacher in my classroom. I have tried to mentor her not only in best teaching practices, but also in the importance of being a professional. I have also shown her how teachers can use each other as resources. Daily, my colleagues and I share our manipulatives, books, and lesson plans.
ReplyDeleteI do like the three you chose because it is real hard to just choose three. I think they all have a purpose in our classrooms and what we do with children daily. I have just went back to being in the infant classroom, and have had to go in and be a mentor to all, so we are giving the children the best care they deserve.
ReplyDeleteI have really enjoyed reading your posts each week and feel I have learned some new things from you. As we are always saying " a p[erson is never too old to learn"-thank you for helping me to learn and I hope to have you in more classes over the course of my Master program. Best of luck to you in all your future goals. Keep up the great posts!
